2007

I taught a workshop June 19th through the 23rd in Newport News, VA at the Peninsula Fine Art Center, Michael Preble, Curator, and participated in their exhibit “Recent American Watercolors” featuring 29 artists. A concurrent exhibit at the PFAC was “American Watercolor Masters” with 24 artists such as Milton Avery and Andrew Wyeth. It was a thrill to be exhibiting in the same galleries with some of American watercolor’s finest and see their work first hand.

The exhibit WATERCOLOR! continues through August 2007.

In July, I had the pleasure of spending some time with Lynn and Jim Powers in Oregon, making my first DVD. They are the owners of Creative Catalyst Productions, Inc. along with their crew Kelly and Zach, and are dedicated to making a superior instructional video. The best sound ,lighting, visuals, timing, editing, and more was used to make me look good ! -- a big job!! The result - “In The Process - One Approach To Artistic Freedom .“ It will be a few months on the cutting room floor but you can contact them at www.ccpvideos.com for advanced information. Hope you like it!!

There will be an unusual and exceptional exhibition in Myrtle Beach, SC at the Franklin G. Burroughs - Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum, “ Springmaid Beach Watercolor Masters “. The exhibit will feature the fall 2007, Springmaid Watermedia Workshop faculty, of which I am a part, from October 28th through January 6th, 2008.

I was honored to be invited to participate in the First Invitational Exhibition of Contemporary International Watermedia Masters in Nanjing, China from Novermber 9th through 22nd. Cheng-Khee Chee is the Curator for the USA.

It will be my honor to be the Chairman of the awards jury for the 2008, American Watercolor Society Exhibition, in New York City.

WOW!! It’s been quite a year!!
